personal project

AMERICAN DIORAMA

American Diorama is a photographic diary made while travelling through the United States. It’s made up of places, people, landscapes, motel rooms, small moments, and meals — things seen while drifting through unfamiliar towns, things that seemed quiet and ordinary at first, but stayed in my mind.

There was no strict plan behind it. I photographed what I came across, without staging or overthinking. Some of the people I met just for a moment. Others stayed longer. The project grew slowly, unintentionally, like a personal archive of a country observed from the side.

There’s something cinematic in how the images sit next to each other — like stills from a film that doesn’t exist. A film made up of pauses, silences, and sunlight.
It’s not a story with a beginning or end. Just a trace of time, colour, and memory.
